The only thing that disappoints me about fedi is how it's mostly in its own world.

Current events kinda go under the radar unless there's an activism push.

Maybe this is also a good thing. It always feels like people are eternally angry on Twitter. Here, people at least have a life outside of their anger against the world.

@abby I very intentionally don't follow "news" accounts, don't post news, and don't interact when someone I follow posts news.

Every other dang platform is already "social rss," I don't need this one to go that way too.

@abby this is all a matter of who you follow of course. I feel like i'm plagued by more depressing discourse on here than on twitter.
